There’s always plenty to do in Old Forge for the 5-year-old and under crowd. Enchanted Forest Water Safari has a host of dry rides for the little ones- from boats to helicopters and a carousel that kids can ride themselves. There’s also lots of splashy fun with water slides and wading pools, including Pygmy Pond, the Sawmill plus Water Safari’s newest water ride, Walter’s Wild Slide! Walter’s Wild Slide is an exciting 4-lane racer waterslide that allows riders of all ages to race to the bottom to see who can make the biggest splash- parents can even ride down with their little ones!

 

Tykes can enjoy the arcade and mini golf at Calypso’s Cove and get creative at the View Arts Center which features activities for children. The Adirondack Wild Center is home to more than 900 Adirondack animals and features special programs and attractions for children. Old Forge Library: events, or enjoy a book, movie, or free WIFI and games

 

Enjoy the beautiful Adirondack Air at the many area playgrounds and the Adirondacks- Playgrounds: North Street Playground, Town of Webb School Playground plus Fern Park Playground and Arrowhead Park Playground in Inlet. Every child loves flying a kite, drawing with chalk and fishing off the docks at the Old Forge Lake Front. 

Viewing the scenery from McCauley Mountain is always a thrill for any age. Families can rent Kayaks, Canoes from Mountainman Outdoor Supply, rent speed boats from Rivett’s Marine. There are lots of Beaches to enjoy a picnic! 

Of course, no vacation is complete without an Ice Cream! Benny’s Ice Cream, Pied Piper, Adirondack Pizzeria. Catch a movie at the Strand Theater.

 

Introduce the kids to their first Hike, Bald Mountain, Rocky Mountain, Moss Lake are all easy enough for little kids. Kids can also enjoy their first Horseback Ride at Adirondack Saddle Tours in Eagle Bay.

Kids of all ages love splashing around the Indoor Pool at Water’s Edge Inn or roasting Marshmallows and making S’more’s around the campfire at Old Forge Camping Resort.

 

Every Thursday the Adirondack Railroad Features Dolly the Clown. This 1-1/2 hour nature excursion, departing Thendara Station. Dolly the Clown and her bright smile will bring laughter and cheer to the young and young at heart. Dolly is sure to entertain you with her balloon artistry, face painting, stories, fun, and games.
